About Us

Hello and welcome! We are Louis and Ainhoa, second-year students in the field of European Studies. It is our honor and pleasure, as enthusiasts, to share with you our extensive knowledge of Europe and to review comprehensively some important current issues regarding border control in the EU.

Louis

My name is Louis, and I have a great passion for Europe and European matters. I was born in Saint-Jean-de-Luz, a town in southwestern France. The town is a fishing port and a seaside resort. It attracts a lot of tourists, not only from France but also from all over Europe.

Apart from French, which is my native language, I speak Spanish and English. I have always had great communication skills and cultural awareness. My enthusiasm and passion for analyzing and dealing with issues related to European matters and my great desire to develop my skills to face, analyze, and cope with those issues have guided me to enroll in the university and to have the chance to gain knowledge from some of the best professionals in this field.

So here I am: I study in the Netherlands, and I am happy to have this opportunity to explore the field of study I have longed for. I am currently carrying out research, assigned as a teamwork, and that is how I met Ainhoa, a fellow student, who is part of the same team.

Ainhoa

My name is Ainhoa, and I am Spanish. I was born in San Sebastian, a town in northern Spain. I have always had a great interest in languages, history, culture, and social issues.

I am an enthusiastic reader and I remember my summer vacations at the seaside reading all day long, eager to gain more and more knowledge. I speak both Basque and Spanish, which are my native languages. Apart from them, I speak French, English, and Greek and I do love the multicultural environment.

When I was a student, my family had a tradition to spend evenings during the holidays dining in the old town of San Sebastian in the company of family friends. These are great memories for me as I was always fascinated and deeply interested in the long evening discussions over political, social, national, and European issues.

I do know from a very early age that what I most wanted was to deep dive into the world of European Studies and gain expertise to be able to handle complex issues at European and international levels.

And that is how I happened to get to know my fellow student, Louis. We have become best friends and spent last weekend together gathering our families in San Sebastian. And during that amazing weekend, we decided to create this info/enthusiastic blog.
